Tattoo Bucket List

Updated: May 6, 2020

So, for awhile now I’ve been planning my tattoos. The only reason I don’t have any is because I’m real stingy. I’m not sure what style I want to narrow it down to, but I don’t think it matters much to me. I may have some traditional style, neo-traditional, black & grey, stick and poke, etc. I’m open to whatever I think belongs on my body at that moment in time. I might regret it years later but I will love it in that moment, and I think that’s what matters. Here is a Pinterest Board with some of my ideas!

Meaningful Art

I plan on having a collection of symbolic tattoos representing people & memories. Some examples of those would be a tattoo for my mom. My mom has done so much for me and is one of the most important people in my life. I would love to get several tattoos in honor of her. As for the placement, I’m open to wherever it fits best! I would like for it to be worked into another piece. A good memory I have with my dad is going out and searching for mushrooms. I think a Morel mushroom incorporated into my other tattoos would look super neat! Another idea I had was for my one brother Owen. He has Autism and I would love to spread awareness. This is what it would look like.

In tribute of my late grandfather, I have several ideas for him. Such as a simple walnut. This is because my granddad had trees that dropped walnuts and he always had them picked up. He stored them in big plastic buckets in the cold garage. I would also like to get a piece of wood as a symbolic piece for my grandpa. He worked with wood quite often in his everyday life. Both in his professional world and personal life. He had a wood shop connected to him and my grandmother’s garage. The smell of wood always lingering. They burned wood during the winter to heat their home. He also owned his own business, Paul’s Hardware in Weston, Ohio.

In remembrance of my grandmother, I plan on having a couple in her honor. Her name was Ellen and I want to get the letter ‘e’ in her handwriting. Probably on the inside of my pinky. I also always think of sunflowers when I think of her. Maybe it was that sunflower pillow that sat on her couch. I would like to have this sunflower worked into another piece along my arms. My grandma also had antique glass lamps scattered throughout the rooms in her home. I remember clicking one off before I fell asleep, the cold metal against my fingers. I was thinking maybe I could get an oil lamp tattoo. I’m not sure where I want it, but possibly on my legs or back. I would also like an outline of a picture (not sure which yet) of my grandma and grandpa Hepler. To me, they were the picture of love. I could only be so lucky to find my soulmate like they found each other.

For my other grandmother, a coffee cup. She has always loved coffee and gets it whenever we go out to eat! Something I will cherish when she’s gone. For my other late grandfather, I’m not quite sure what I will do for him quite yet.

Animal Inspired

I have always had a love for animals and want to show that. I have many different ANIMAL ideas. Including:

To name a few. I would also want a butterfly combined with scissors/knife. ANIMALS have always been a huge part of my life, studying them. I would really love to express my love for the ANIMAL kingdom!

Thank you Mother Nature!

For my appreciation for all things nature, I want the majority of my tattoos to connect with the habitat theme. I am currently wanting a HABITAT-esc tattoo running up my right arm. I want it to incorporate mushrooms, insects, animals, flowers, spider web, rocks, soil, grass blades, etc.

I want tattoos relating to nature like flowers, vines, insects, mushrooms, bones, etc. I would love these things placed all over my body, being the main connector.

Pop Culture Inspired

Pop culture is a huge part of my everyday life! I would love to represent some movies, shows, and people I’ve come to idolize. Such as The Shining, Jaws, Beatrix Potter, Harry Styles, The Office, Amy Winehouse, and others! I would also like tattoos inspired by Wallows, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Harry Potter, Lady Gaga, and many more!

Specific Pieces and Flash Tattoos

Having someone else’s work on my body would be such an honor. Here are some pieces of art I'm interested in possibly getting on my body.

I am also super in love with flash tattoo sheets! I would love to fill the gaps between my tattoos with even smaller tattoos! I want to be a cluttered mess of art!

Continuing Thoughts…

There’s a map so far of my brain when it comes to tattoos. It feels good to write and MAP things out in an organized order! I think I’m going to continue to transfer my thoughts into words. I cannot wait to be able to afford my dream tattoos one day! As the days go on, I will continue to either update or create a thread of new ideas for tattoos. If you have any ideas for me, let me know!
