The Summer Plans I had before Covid-19

Before all this pandemic hit, my best friend and I had made a summer bucket list. We dreamt of the day the warm air hit and we could do some of the things off our LIST. But before the heat could near us, we were on lock down. Now we can’t ride in the same car together, be within 6 feet of one another, we can’t go inside each other’s homes. So what are we to do now? Well as that question is being answered slowly but surely, these are some of the plans we had made before it got almost taken away.

Projects

We are both artsy and always ready to create! So we thought up some ideas for us to make during this summer! Planning on painting lighters, canvases, our bodies, Polaroids, rocks, wooden material, and even vinyls! For the lighters, we can decorate with beads, paints, glitter, etc. You can make it our own personalized one! My friends and I frequently paint on canvases so this will be nothing new to us, it’s the ideas and concept of the piece that makes things a little tricky! Painting on your legs, arms, or someone else's back is a great way to switch up your art! Sometimes painting on canvas or paper all the time can get boring and repetitive. Try something different!

Old 50¢ vinyls from a local coffee shop, Grounds for Thoughts, can easily be recycled into an art piece! I thought this would be a fun and cool idea and something we could hang up afterwards! Another part of painting is your location. On our bucket list we wanted to paint and create in different places. Such as new secret spots, by the river, abandoned places, the forest, the beach, etc. These new spots can bring us inspiration for our art! We can also make little stash wooden boxes, stash jars, make something out of air dry clay, henna, friendship bracelets, chalk art and more! We also would love to re-do one of our garages/barns into a hangout spot for us to be able to chill out and hang.

Activities

The possibilities are endless in the summer, let your imagination run wild! Some things we could do to get some exercise would be taking a walk, riding bikes, workout, water balloon fight, swimming, hiking, and taking the dogs for a walk. But what if we want to just relax? Feel zen? We could go tanning, picnic, go pick strawberries/vegetables or fruits, camp out in your backyard, a chill bonfire or go watch the sunset/sunrise. Rainy day? No problem! Hair chalk, smoothies, and makeovers? Yes please!

Travel

Sometimes you just want to get out of the house and away from your small town. Have a different experience for once. Go to a concert, art museum, to the fair, the river, a water park, cedar point, beach for the day, drive-in-theater, goodwill fun, go out to the clubs, and so many more! At a concert we can have the best times of our lives! Singing along to your favorite artist, feeling the beat through your body, bodies bumping into one another. The art museum, get dressed up for the day, look at art, take pictures of and by the exhibits. At the fair there’s so much to do! Eat, ride rides, look at animals, watch races, shop, etc! Here you can spend more than one day exploring the country or state fair. Like the fair, Cedar Point is somewhere where you can spend a lot of time and money there as well as fun! At the river we can swim, kayak, wade, fish, or just walk alongside of. Nature is so giving if you just stop to appreciate it! Same with the beach! To go to the beach we will have to drive farther than to reach the river. My favorite beach is up in the Port Clinton, Ohio area near Kelly’s Island!

Photo Shoot Ideas

Memories don’t last forever, but pictures can. So I want to take lots of pictures this summer! Some ideas I had for the photo shoot location/concept were a sunflower patch, beach pics, fair, picnic, party, lake, mirror outside, flower patch, friend pics, jungle gym, store, glitter/led lights, record store, etc. Linked are reference photos. In the summer it will be fun to work with different lighting and at different locations. I hope I am able to shoot a couple friends/be shot soon! I really enjoy taking photos of others and nature, so I can’t wait to capture my friends and the summer months.

Recipes

In summer 2020, Corona or not, I can still try new recipes! From smoothies, dinners, alcoholic beverages, and anything food that screams summer! A recipe I would love to try is grilled chicken and asparagus pesto pasta. I would love to just sit out on a blanket with music playing, a light breeze, and just eat this pasta, be at peace. This dish says fresh and summer to me and looks delicious! A delicious drink I want to try would be the Pink Panties.

Pink Panties Recipe

1 oz. Vodka

2 oz. Sprite

Pink Lemonade

Some other recipes I’d like to try this summer would be beef taco salad, grilled and spiced Mexican street corn, pink tropics smoothie, jungle juice, different salads, avocado egg toast, sunrise daze smoothie, and many more! I’m open to trying anything that sounds yummy! After cooking, I'd love to share and try it myself. I am a huge foodie!

Fingers Crossed

I could only hope I would be able to do even half the things on our summer bucket list. But even if we can’t do them all, I hope it inspired you to make your own list! Feel free to steal some of our ideas! Fingers crossed Covid-19 lifts soon!
